You can see a monitor on the picture. You may have already known it. It is not for heart monitoring, but it is to entertain hospital patients. It is 3 in one or 4 in one device as far as I know. It has got TV, Internet access and phone line.While lying in the bed, sick people can enjoy BBC programmes, can surf the net and can talk to their relatives and friends. It is provided with top-up card. I saw this facility in many UK hospitals. In fact, before introducing this network, portable TV rental service has been running in most hospitals for many years, I think.
