Aung San Oo is a useless bastard?

It was in 1988. Many people in Burma were expecting Aung San Oo to come back and take a lead. But it never happened. For me, it is understandable that people may be struggling for their survival, prioritizing personal or financial matters. But now, it is over 20 years on. He is still silent while Burma has been passing through several man-made disasters and natural disasters. What he has done are building a luxury mansion house in historic area of Bagan and trying to own her late mother’s lakeside property in Yangon.

Many Burmese wonder why he did not pay attention to own people. Being a naturalized American is not an enough reason. Is he a workaholic? Is he an alcoholic? Is he a schizophrenic? Was he in jail when the country needed him? Is he a womaniser? or has he been chasing young boys?

Those questions came to our mind. Because many believe that Aung San Oo has been ethically doing wrong. His father, General Aung San, was a national leader, whose performance in such a short time was fantastic, while fathering unpopular Aung San Oo and Nobel Laureate Aung San Suu Kyi. But now Aung San Oo has been where?

According to the Burmese tradition, the eldest son ,like Aung San Oo, has a moral duty to complete what his assassinated father wanted. He should support Burmese people who are in the hell these days. He just neglects.

There is an English proverb. Like father, like son. In Aung San Oo's case, Father national hero, Son the useless.

But, as a doctor, whenever I see people, I have got a habit of checking from the medical point of view, from their pattern of walking, their appearance to the way of their thought and believe. Everybody has their own reason why they do or do not. You can’t blame easily. Some people may have some sort of phobias. Some people have fear of open space. This condition is called Agoraphobia. Other examples of phobic conditions are:

-Entomophobia-Fear of Insect (common among young girls)
-Spectrophobia- Fear of specters or ghosts. (common among Buddhism)
-Xenoglossophobia- Fear of foreign languages. (a proportion of Myanmar bloggers, they keep posting only in Burmese, claiming that they love Burmese language, Burmese culture)
-Xenophobia- Fear of strangers or foreigners (the majority of officials in Burma)
-Ochlophobia- Fear of crowds or mobs. (In Burma, gathering of people not allowed)

Do you think Aung San Oo has a kind of phobia?
Tell me he has what kind of phobia?

I have no idea about Aung San Oo.

I just couldn't agree more with you stated everyone has their own reasons to do and not to do. Can't blame easily without putting in others people shoes.

maybe it is more of sheer uselessness, rather than anything else.

Living in the UK for as long as you have I'm surprised you mixed up masculine and feminine in your usage of third person pronouns.

As for your views regarding Aung San Oo, I don't really want to comment as I don't know the man.

I would however like to know what you think he could do for the country that his sister hasn't done? Should he go back to Burma and be politically active? Get placed under house arrest?
Why not suggest something constructive instead of just taking a cheap shot at a guy you hardly know.

Thank you zatlite for your message.

Basically, I didn't claim personally about sexual orientation of Aung San Oo.

Next, I have to suggest constructive way for what and who? for Aung San Oo? Do you think it's worth doing so for that gentleman?

Hmm... Once again, I spoke before checking up on the facts. I understand where you are drawing your opinions from now. Google enlightens .-)

Honestly, I knew nothing about U Aung San Oo except for the fact that he is one of the children of Gen Aung San.

Anyhow, that's not really what my original comment was about. If you look at your writing from the point of view of some idiot who knew nothing (that was me) you may find the author offensive.

Dear Melody,

If you read it again, Paragraph 1 to 5 is what I heard or what our friends thought.

Paragraph 6 to 8 is my own thought from medical point of view. Of course, he may not have any phobic condition. May be different issue what I don't know.

exactly, he must has some illnesses or phobias otherwise he might has been killed by government's spy.

But let me ask you one thing why you didn't ban such a ridiculous person who don't know Aung San OO.

don't you amaze? that person who don't know Burmese history and named as Burmese "Zatlite". That's shame. even don't know anything about A S OO and can criticized here.

Aung San oo is not an ordinary person that every Burmese know.
The blood of grate grand Dad "Bo Min Yaung" and the father of Hero "General Aung San" who's oldest son in their family that we all had to learn in primary school.

just want to say Zatlite. As other citizens, we must know our root and we have to keep our Identity. we are living in oversea countries in many reasons though Burmese is Burmese. Most people who even born and grew up, settle down in Multiculturalism countries, they are always devote their own origin and also they are patriotic. They know and valued their history. If you know nothing you shouldn't contribute in here.

As an ordinary person, I've been taking part in the line as much as I could.
If I were Aung San Oo, I should have done something more than that for my country.

It would be so great to see Daw Aung San Suu Kyi continues her father's journey with her one and the only direct brother U Aung San Oo.

Instead, he is taking benefits and helping the regime. This is no way understandable for the ROYAL HERO family members. I was reading a topic on dassk.org (http://dassk.org/index.php/topic,7900.0.html) that said “Threat of Aung San Oo's Lawsuit Added to Charges Over U.S. Visitor”. I am very sadly hearing about her. She really is a brave woman. Now they said the Yettaw story is a total lie like the previous – previous ones. Is he in USA or UK? I wish he at least stand by the side of truth. I am not naming him as a bad person. Helping the group that murdering innocent people, is murder. I meant this to any business company and individual that ignoring or helping the regime for killing people. Can you imagine, three soldiers are raping and killing two a little girls in front of their parents? Father was killed on the spot and mother escaped and lives in Bangkok now. She has only one eye left. Burma issue is not political issue as it should. It is hate crime systematically done for the long time. The truth will win!

Aung San Oo just agree everything with Thanshwe. That's why no need to oppose the military leader, instead very close to them. He may believe that his father may also do not like DASSK married to the English man if he is still alive.
